Living in Yokohama

Yokohama is located in the Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan and is the second largest city in the country after the capital, Tokyo. The city has seen much development due to its location as a port city, and is an important economic center for the area. Due to this, Yokohama is also known as "The Port of the Future". The city has many historic and cultural areas to visit which expats living in Yokohama will be able to take advantage of. Some of the city's main attractions include the historic port area Kannai and the Yokohama Marine Tower which is known for being the tallest inland lighthouse in the world. The city is also home to Yokohama Chinatown, also one of the largest in the world. Yokohama is furthermore home to a number of beautiful scenic and outdoor spaces and expatriates living in Yokohama can make the most of its many shopping and leisure opportunities. Popular sports in the city include baseball and football, whilst a number of festivals are also held in Yokohama each year.
