What's Wolfsburg Like for Expats?

Wolfsburg is unique in Germany as it is one of the youngest towns in the country. The city revolves around the economic juggernaut that it the Volkswagen Group. It was founded in 1938 to house workers from the newly established VW factory, which from its early days has now grown into one of the world’s biggest production plants. Wolfsburg takes its name from a nearby castle, which is much older than the town itself (it’s first mentioned in 1302). Today, the city has around 131,000 inhabitants and attracts plenty of tourists, who come to visit the VW museum (which includes exhibitions on many other brands such as Lamborghini and Bugatti). Wolfsburg has a fairly standard European climate, but interestingly it gets a lower amount of rainfall than most of Germany on average!
