What to Expect from Life in Libreville

The largest city and capital of the African country of Gabon, Libreville is a port city on the Komo River and close to the Gulf of Guinea. Known as the country's only "real" city, Libreville is home to over a third of Gabon's population. Its largest industry is oil, and this booming economy is reflected in the lifestyle of the city's inhabitants and expats. One of Africa's most expensive cities, the streets are clean and filled with high-end restaurants and gated villa communities. Libreville also has another side to it, of bustling markets, beautiful coastline and crammed residential areas where local populations usually live.

InterNations is the largest global network for expatriates, with communities in 420 cities around the world. Meet fellow global minds in your city of residence or get to know local expatriates before you're moving or traveling abroad and never feel like a stranger. InterNations makes it easy for you to stay in touch with your expat friends, both online and offline, so you can grow your network of friends and contacts from all over the world. Whether they live in Malta or Seoul, InterNations allows you to be close to them even if they are miles away.
