I would try the San Marco hotel in Punda or the Otrabanda Hotel in Otrabanda (both in Willemstad). Daytime is great, but if u want to go out in the evening, take a taxi, dont go walking around there.

Beautiful Islands, Exciting New Life!

The 20 island states of the Lesser Antilles are a part of the West Indies and comprise both sovereign states and protectorates of the Netherlands, the UK, France, and the US. Whichever island you make your new home, you will find a wide mix of cultures and customs to explore and interact with. The islands sit on a volcanic chain and offer great opportunities for hikers and explorers with their high peaks — the highest is on the island of Guadeloupe. The opportunities for the expat to explore the culture is endless with local cuisine based around the deep blue waters around the island, music and nightlife which is exuberant and lively, and festivals which bring the whole community together. Safety on the islands is a concern but by seeking out local knowledge, most dangerous situations can be avoided. The climate is, as expected, very hot and can be a problem for some people with health conditions. It's easy to feel isolated on these small islands so make sure you connect with our expats to avoid this.

InterNations is the largest global network for expatriates, with communities in 420 cities around the world. Meet fellow global minds in your city of residence or get to know local expatriates before you're moving or traveling abroad and never feel like a stranger. InterNations makes it easy for you to stay in touch with your expat friends, both online and offline, so you can grow your network of friends and contacts from all over the world. Whether they live in Malta or Barcelona, InterNations allows you to be close to them even if they are miles away.

Connect with Your Lesser Antilles Expat Community

Expats from all the world come to the islands of the Lesser Antilles to live and work, including students on a gap year, families, and business CEOs. At InterNations, you can find like-minded people with shared tastes and interests in the expat community so that you can make the most of your time on the islands. Just like the islands themselves, our community is multicultural, with people hailing from all over the world. We hold regular social and networking events which are geared towards bringing people together and include days out sightseeing, enjoying fine dining, and watching sports events. Our expat community organizes its own activities — you will find something to suit your interests here, whether it be extreme sports, snorkeling in the blue waters of the Caribbean or even taking dance lessons.
