Hello and a heartfelt welcome to our InterNations Community in the Cayman Islands! Our international community is here to guide you through your move abroad. Living in a new country is bound to bring great experiences, but making the move raises plenty of questions, such as, "how easy is it for my spouse to get a work permit for the Cayman Islands?", "which island is best for the kind of lifestyle I'm looking for?", and "what is the expected business etiquette in the Cayman Islands?". Our members have a wealth of experience between them and are always happy to share their expertise with other expats. Upon arrival in the Cayman Islands we can help you settle into your new life quickly and easily, with detailed information on local highlights such as the annual Carnival of Batabano, modeled on Mardi Gras, fireworks displays celebrating Pirate's Week, and the fascinating National Parrot Reserve.

Further Information about Expat Life and the Local Economy on the Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands encompass three Caribbean islands with some of the most beautiful coastline in the region. The islands are an extremely popular destination for expats, who make up two-thirds of the population, most of whom live on the biggest island, Grand Cayman. The islands are home to some of the world's rarest and most endangered wildlife. In contrast to the islands' laid back lifestyle, the Cayman Islands' status as a tax haven, with no mandatory income reporting, has made it home to around 600 banking institutions, with total assets of over 500 billion USD. While the Cayman Islands' inhabitants enjoy some of the highest standards of living in the world, around 90% of all food and consumer goods have to be imported, making the cost of living higher than in many America cities. However, its excellent infrastructure and economic stability have led to a low crime rate and great quality of life.

InterNations is the largest global network for expatriates, with communities in 420 cities around the world. Meet fellow global minds in your city of residence or get to know local expatriates before you're moving or traveling abroad and never feel like a stranger. InterNations makes it easy for you to stay in touch with your expat friends, both online and offline, so you can grow your network of friends and contacts from all over the world. Whether they live in Jeddah or Brussels, InterNations allows you to be close to them even if they are miles away.

Moving to the Cayman islands may sound luxurious, but it's actually moving to the middle of nowhere. InterNations helped me to meet more expats.
