What You Can Expect from Life in Cardiff
In the past two decades, Cardiff has developed as a city beyond recognition. There was a time when the Cardiff Bay area was tired, worn out, and quite frankly a place to avoid. Nowadays, it is the life and soul of the city. The restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and family-friendly attractions make it the place to be, day or night. In the city center, the Millennium Stadium on match day provides an atmosphere that is second to none. The city has a high proportion of students, including international students at the numerous universities. The Roath Park area tends to provide living accommodation for many of them, along with the various university halls throughout the city. Cheaper areas to live include Splott, where rows of terraced houses are the center of vibrant, multicultural communities. The area is also within walking distance of the city center. Public transportation provision is good, with regular buses and trains and an airport nearby.

You will find that the citizens of Cardiff are a friendly and welcoming group of people. However, it is always beneficial to have the advice of people who have been in the same position as you. There are several lovely cities near to Cardiff that you will also want to explore, including Bristol and Swansea. You might want to get involved in the Bristol Country Walks Group, which provides a great way to see the countryside. The group meets once or twice a month on the weekends, for a stout walk and some good company.
