Begin Your New Life as an Expat in Cameroon

Douala, Yaoundé, Garoua, Bamenda and Koussendi are the major cities in Cameroon and where most expats will head to. Both French and English are the official languages, with French being more common. Those interested in the wildlife and nature of Cameroon will be unable to resist exploring the expansive national parks housing a variety of wild animals in their natural habitats. Major industries in Cameroon rely on commercial farming and factory-based industry, which is mainly in the cities of Doula and Bonabéri. Along the coast, bananas, cocoa and tea are cultivated, while inland, sugar, tobacco and particularly coffee are lucrative crops. Agriculture and fishing are also significant sources of employment.

InterNations is the largest global network for expatriates, with communities in 420 cities around the world. Meet fellow global minds in your city of residence or get to know local expatriates before you're moving or traveling abroad and never feel like a stranger. InterNations makes it easy for you to stay in touch with your expat friends, both online and offline, so you can grow your network of friends and contacts from all over the world. Whether they live in Kuwait or Japan, InterNations allows you to be close to them even if they are miles away.

Meet New Friends at InterNations Events

Our members hail from all over the world and you are invited to our regular InterNations Events to meet, socialize, and start building lasting friendships with fellow expats. With our private network, you can easily contact other expats knowing that they have been carefully selected and are committed to our principles of polite behavior and trust. Your membership gives you access to detailed information online and lively social opportunities in person, so make InterNations your first stop for answers, advice, and friends while living abroad.
